OUR CHARGING TECH
WHAT IS DOCKCHAIN?

DockChain is your charge point multiplier that delivers rapid DC charging to every place you park an EV. Perfect for fleets, hotels, offices, and many other locations. DockChain works using a daisy chain model. Connect a standard OCPP-compliant DC charger, and DockChain provides a modular, easily extendable system for less investment. At scale, the costs can even be lower than slow AC charging.
DockChain is more charging for less. More kWh delivered, more vehicles charged. Less cost and a lot less operational hassle. If that's what you need, read on.
DockChain is better than slow AC, and much more effective than DC chargers alone. You can even learn how it compares to the more expensive hub-and-spoke solutions. (download the brochure here )
More vehicles charged off the same grid connection
More vehicles in use quicker
More operational flexibility
More revenue now and in the future
Vehicle owners and fleet operators
Car dealerships
Parking operators
Cities
Hotels, offices and apartment buildings
Public charging locations
Less total cost of ownership
Less cost per kWh and per vehicle operationally charging
Less operational hassle
Less vehicle downtime
In other words, DockChain saves you time, money and mental load.
In other (other) words, less is more.
STEP BY STEP
We end the constraint of rapid DC chargers
DC chargers are great for charging quickly. However, they're constrained as they usually serve only one or two vehicles and parking spaces. This results in low utilization, the charger getting blocked, or EVs needing to be moved, with operational cost, to access the charger. Even DC chargers with multiple satellites are fixed in position, constraining flexibility and capacity.
The evidence is clear - DockChain delivers you more charging for less
Maximum charging speed
Low installation costs per space
Low running costs
Expandable and adaptable
Suitable for commercial settings
Suitable for residential settings
Fully network manageable
Vehicles connected at once
Available for all charger types

*Remember, even if the charger has it, most EVs take a maximum of 7 or 11 kW on AC.
INDUSTRIES WE WORK WITH
Whether it's the benefit of fast charging, optimizing grid capacity and energy buying, space-saving, or a better customer experience, DockChain brings a range of benefits to different users.
Offer charging to overnight guests AND fast charging for diners, meeting attendees, or passers-by who have a shorter dwell time.
Fast charging becomes an option in shared buildings, without the charger ever getting blocked. The modular, scalable design lets more spaces electrify as residents adopt an EV
Prioritize charging on specific EVs, get the fleet to operational levels of charge quicker, optimize your grid connection, avoid car movements.
Offer fast charging for short stay visitors AND a viable option for longer duration vehicles without moving vehicles. Scheduled charging and V2X become possible at scale.
Add rapid charging to loading bays and space constrained sites while making best use of the grid, charger investment, and energy buying.
Get priority vehicles back on the road quicker. Access priority charging bays in shared locations. Reduce investment needed to transition fleet to EVs.
Put an end to waiting all day for your car to charge or moving EVs around chargers. Quick onsite meetings for teams or visitors become possible.
Offer faster charging, earn more revenue AND enhance the customer experience. No more blocked chargers. Full visibility and driver notifications when EVs are charged.
In theory yes. Any OCPP compliant charger will be compatible with DockChain. However, as the charger utilization usually increases significantly this charger needs to be a reliable one.
No. We are charging each vehicle in sequence, we are not load balancing. That means each vehicle charges at full power, one at a time. A dual, or quad-output charger can be optimized to deliver the maximum power across the vehicles on each chain. DC Chargers with two connectors work well for most applications.
This depends on 3 elements. Firstly the power available and the DC charger output. Secondly, what is the vehicle attached capable of taking, and finally, what specification of power rating configured on the DockChain system. Assuming the source charger and vehicle can handle the power, our cables can be rated to 400 amps. That'll charge up to 160 kW on a 400v vehicle or 320 kW on an 800v vehicle. Most use cases require less and it can be more economical to plan for 250 amp cables.
